Welcome, friends.
Let’s imagine early childhood without policing.
Last fall, Megan Madison and Ijumaa Jordan invited educators to a workshop called “Rethinking Police as Community Helpers” hosted by Little Chairs Big Differences. Over that fall and spring, they heard that teachers need brave space and support in order to make these changes to our pedagogies and our practice..
You are invited…
to imagine what our work with children could be without the fictional narrative of police as community helpers or the pedagogical policing of children and families. Here, in this online space, Ijumaa Jordan will support educators in our efforts to change our pedagogies and our practice. Each month, she will share videos and other to address educator concerns, facilitate dialog and host an online conversation specifically about what our field looks like when we change our relationship to police.
